My name is Ron Pramschufer and I am one of the founders of RJ Communications and Booksjustbooks.com. I started over 35 years ago working in the production office of a Baltimore, MD book manufacturer. After about 10 years of working in the pressroom, bindery shipping department as well as estimating and the production office, I decided to try the other side of the table and became a partner in a small press publisher in Annapolis, MD. I also co-invented, published and marketed (on a shoestring) two highly successful satirical political board games. Unfortunately, after three years in publishing I discovered… that I was a very good printer. I ended up in New York City selling printing to New York publishers. That was over 20 years ago.
The idea of RJ Communications and Booksjustbooks.com evolved from a combination all of these past experiences along with a little maturity and the power of the Internet. Over the years I have been able to share my experiences (good and bad) with hundreds of publishers, small and large. My philosophy, when it comes to most things, is that the answer “No” just means you didn’t understand the question. My last official boss told me over 10 years ago that, “everyone doesn’t see the big picture like you… Ron” In amazement I answered, “don’t you think that someone in this company should ”? It was not long after that that RJ Communications was established. Feel free to write or call about any phase of the self-publishing process including your “big picture”.
